Cleaner Cable Management, Faster Turn-Ups

Precision Group ONT wall mounts help broadband providers create cleaner indoor fiber installs with structured cable management, protected routing, and mounting options designed around real technician workflows. As networks shift from outdoor ONTs to indoor ONTs, installers are dealing with exposed jumpers, fragile fiber, and inconsistent placement that leads to callbacks, clutter, and customer frustration.

These ONT wall mounts are built to solve that with one goal in mind: make installs faster, cleaner, and easier to service.

How the ONT Wall Mount Evolved From Field Feedback

This product line evolved directly from field feedback.

The first generation was a simple wall plate used to bring fiber into the home as more providers began transitioning from outdoor ONTs to indoor ONTs. Once ONTs moved indoors, installers needed a better way to manage fiber entry and routing inside the home without leaving jumpers exposed or relying on improvised placement.

From there, the designs expanded into the FlexPlate lineup, including model-specific ONT wall plates for Adtran and Calix, plus support for other common ONT manufacturers. Today, the same core design philosophy carries across the lineup: intuitive cable management, clean routing, and a secure fit that supports faster installs.

Inside the ONT Wall Mount Design

Every Precision Group ONT wall mount is built around the same internal layout concept. Cable routing tracks keep fiber organized and protected. Splice sleeve holders support clean internal splicing when needed. Keystone knockouts (RJ45 or RJ11) give flexibility for voice backfeeding or Ethernet routing based on the home’s existing wiring.

Installers can open the cover, route everything with clear visual guidance, then close it up and mount the ONT securely on top.

“There’s a core concept within all of our ONT wall mounts: simple routing, clean cable management, and a secure fit for the ONT,” said Matt Kautter, Sales Engineer at Precision Group. “It’s intuitive. Everything goes exactly where it should.”

Model-Specific ONT Wall Mounts for Adtran, Calix, and More

As ONT manufacturers update models, providers need mounting solutions that match new footprints and cable entry needs. Precision Group developed wall mounts for early indoor ONT models, then continued expanding as customer demand followed newer ONTs.

Matt highlights solutions built for common platforms, including Adtran and Calix models, with similar internal functionality across designs. While the outer size changes to match the ONT, the internal routing and organization stays consistent. That consistency helps technicians move faster and reduces confusion across installs.

Another key benefit is visibility. These solutions support installs where ONT lights remain visible to the customer, which helps during troubleshooting calls with technical support.

The Universal Option: UFLEX ONT Enclosure for High-Churn Environments

For providers managing multiple ONT brands, frequent tenant turnover, or apartments and student housing, Precision Group offers the Universal ONT FlexPlate (UFLEX), a universal ONT enclosure designed to simplify installs in high-churn environments.

U-Flex adds a clear front window so customers can see ONT lights during troubleshooting. It can be secured using a can wrench for added protection. It also includes space for logoing, QR codes, and contact information, which supports faster support interactions and self-activation workflows.

This universal enclosure can be configured in different ways, including a truly universal option that secures the ONT inside as long as it fits the enclosure. The internal layout still includes routing tracks, splice sleeve management, and keystone options, just in a larger universal form factor.

Why These ONT Wall Mounts Matter in the Field

Without an ONT wall mount or enclosure, installers often rely on basic “biscuit jacks,” leaving fiber jumpers exposed between the fiber entry point and the ONT. That creates common problems in real homes:

  • Jumpers get snagged by vacuums, feet, or furniture
  • Pets chew or damage exposed fiber
  • The install looks messy and unprofessional
  • Service issues increase when fiber is unprotected

ONT wall mounts solve this by keeping fiber protected behind a cover and securing the ONT in a defined location. Instead of exposed fiber across the wall, you reduce the install down to what customers understand and expect: a clean ONT and a simple Ethernet connection to the router.

Keystone Flexibility: RJ11 and RJ45 Options That Work With Existing Wiring

Many homes are still wired for older infrastructure, like phone lines and coax. The keystone positions on Precision Group’s plates give technicians options to work with what is already in the home.

If a provider is delivering voice service, technicians can backfeed voice into existing home phone wiring using RJ11. RJ45 supports Ethernet routing to the router, either directly or through existing wall wiring. This helps installers avoid unnecessary cable runs while keeping the install protected and organized.

Brand It, Scan It, Connect It

Precision Group’s custom logoing and QR code options turn ONT wall mounts into customer-ready activation points.

Providers can add logos, phone numbers, and QR codes that support:

  • Faster support calls with the right contact info in front of the customer
  • Easier identification and brand recognition inside the home
  • Reduced risk of competitor “takeovers”
  • Self-install workflows that eliminate truck rolls in the right environments

If a provider has the backend OSS/BSS systems in place, QR codes can support near touchless provisioning and faster revenue recognition. Even without full automation, a QR code can route customers to a simple landing page for signup and activation steps.

Simplify Every Indoor ONT Install

Precision Group ONT wall mounts are built for real-world conditions: tight spaces, fragile fiber, changing ONT models, and the constant pressure to activate service faster with fewer callbacks.

From model-specific Flex Plates to the universal U-Flex enclosure, these solutions help providers deliver clean, protected installs that technicians can complete quickly and confidently.

Better Connection. Better Experience. Problem Solved.
