Chuck Catanese, Director of Engineering
As director of engineering at Precision Group, Chuck Catanese coordinates all aspects of electronic product, specification, design, production, testing, and quality control.
With over 35 years of engineering, tech support, and management experience in telecommunications, Chuck is Precision Group’s go-to guy for solving problems in a practical and economic manner.
Chuck’s passion for service has taken him to Haiti more than a dozen times where he has lead non-profit teams in construction, medical and ministry. Chuck, in collaboration with Precision Group, is currently active designing and installing solar electronic systems in Port-Salut, Haiti that provide reliable, off-grid power systems for lighting, communications, and essential appliances.
Chuck holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering & Technology from the University of Dayton, graduating tau alpha pi.

What do you love about the Broadband industry?
I love how rapidly it changes, never a dull moment!
How has the industry evolved over your career, looking back what is most surprising?
I am not a young guy and the most amazing thing has been to witness technology evolution. When I started out of college, mechanical 1A telephone exchanges where still very common and they required large buildings to house them. Today, the equivalent SIP switch is the size of a dorm room mini fridge! Also, the path from 9.6kbs FSK modems to gFast has showed us what we can really do with a pair of copper telephone wires.
What does your favorite Saturday look like?
A trip to the lake with my wife.
What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
Fishing, auto restoration

Father of 3 grown girls, grandpa to 2 girls and a boy, husband of 39 years

Doing it now!
