This October, Precision Group is embarking on an epic 302-mile bike journey from Earth City, Missouri, to the Mid America Telecom Conference (MATSS) in Kansas City, Missouri. Brett Kirby, Director of Sales Operations, and Joe Ascheman, Regional Account Manager for the South Central U.S., will pedal their way through the heart of Missouri, making key stops at distributors and partners along the way.
But this ride isn’t just about the road—it’s about giving back. As part of the Precision Family Gives Back initiative, Brett and Joe will be raising funds for Whole Kids Outreach, a nonprofit organization dedicated to pregnant women/teens and families with young children who live in Poverty in the Missouri Ozarks. Their goal is to raise $2,500 to support this incredible cause and continue Precision Group’s commitment to positively impacting the community.
The Journey: From Earth City to Kansas City
The “Road to MATSS” officially kicks off in Earth City, MO on October 16, 2024, with a special event at CORE Telecom Systems, one of Precision Group’s key distributor partners. From there, Brett and Joe will make their way through five Missouri towns, with each stop highlighting a new product or service from Precision Group’s expansive network infrastructure solutions:
- Hermann, MO
- Rocheport, MO
- Windsor, MO
- Lee’s Summit, MO
- Kansas City, MO
At every stop, Precision Group will showcase a portion of the network, leading up to the big reveal of the customer premise solutions at the MATSS conference itself.
Supporting Whole Kids Outreach
This ride is a testament to Precision Group’s commitment to giving back. Whole Kids Outreach works tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of moms and children in 11 counties in southeast Missouri. You can help Brett and Joe reach their goal of $2,500 by donating directly online to Whole Kids Outreach.
Why is the need so great in the Region?
Income in our service area of Missouri is, on average, much less than the per-family income in the rest of the state. Within the region, the income of our WKO families, on average, is 75% less than the state average income.
The average distance to a health care facility (outside Butler County) is over 60 miles, in a region with no public transportation. The service area has only 60% of the hospital beds required to adequately meet the service area’s health care needs.
This level of income and lack of easy access to health care makes everything harder for our families.
Across this region, 27-34% of children (under 6) live in poverty, and 44% – 57% of children (under 6) receive SNAP
The rate of teen pregnancy is up to 51% higher than the rate in Missouri
The incidence of substantiated childhood abuse and neglect is 2-5 times the rate in Missouri
The rate of infant deaths per 1,000 births is 20% -47% higher than the rate in Missouri
