Glow rods have always been essential in fiber installs, but traditional methods come with one big problem: tape.

If you’re still taping jumpers to glow rods, you’re wasting time, risking damage, and drilling oversized holes you don’t need.

At Precision Group, we set out to solve that problem with three purpose-built solutions:
→ The 18″ Bullet Jumper Glow Rod with a built-in adapter

→ The 4ft Bullet Jumper Glow Rod for longer residential and light commercial runs

→ And the Bullet Adapter, which turns your existing glow rod into a better one

Both Glow Rods come standard with a bullet adapter on one end and a universal threaded end on the other—so you can connect them to additional rods for extended reach.

Bye‑Bye Tape — Hello Precision

Why Choose Glow Rods with Built-In Adapters

If you’ve ever tried to push a taped connector through a wall, you already know the issue. Tape builds up bulk, snags in the hole, and puts strain on your connector, slowing down installs and risking damage.

The Bullet Jumper Glow Rod is designed for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installs where compact, direct routing matters. At just 18 inches, it’s long enough to get through walls—but short enough to avoid hitting a car in a garage or a ceiling beam in tight spaces.

Or Convert What You Already Have with the Bullet Adapter

Already own glow rods and don’t want to toss them? Upgrade them! Our Bullet Adapter screws onto most standard glow rods and connects directly to the bullet jumper. It gives techs a tool they can keep in their kit to streamline installs without investing in a whole new rod.

What Makes Our Solutions Different?

  • Built for FTTH

  • No Tape Required

  • Faster, Cleaner Installs

  • Compatible with Bullet Jumper

Why Tape Fails in the Field

Taped glow rods don’t just slow you down—they introduce avoidable complications that impact the quality of your install.

When using tape, you’re forced to drill a larger hole to accommodate the added bulk. That oversized hole needs extra silicone to seal properly—or you risk letting in bugs, moisture, and debris. Our adapter, however, is designed for a standard ⅜” hole that fits tightly with most bushings, keeping the fiber secure and sealed with minimal silicone—if any at all.

Then there’s the tape itself. Heat can soften the adhesive, making it slick and elastic. It stretches, breaks, and leaves your jumper stranded mid-pull. And the residue? Sticky mess—often smeared across fingers, wall plates, and the connector face, exactly where you don’t want it.

Worst of all, the tape sits right at the connection point. That’s where you’ll hit resistance, forcing you to pull harder and putting unnecessary stress on your jumper.

The solution? Skip the tape altogether.

Bullet Jumper Glow Rod + Bullet Adapter vs. Standard Glow Rods (Competitor)

Bullet Jumper Glow Rod

  • Ideal 18″ length for wall installs
  • Built-in adapter

  • Smaller holes, less pull tension

  • Ready out of the box

Bullet Adapter

  • Adapts existing rods for FTTH use
  • Replaces the need for tape

  • Protects jumper + saves time

  • Works with your gear

Standard Glow Rods (Competitor)

  • Often too long for residential walls
  • Tape is standard

  • Tape can snag and slow progress

  • Not compatible without modification

Designed to Do More—with Less

Like everything we make, these solutions started with questions from the field—and ended with a better way to work. The biggest win? You drill a smaller hole, avoid unnecessary stress on the jumper, and get a smoother pull—all because the connection is clean and compact.

Choosing the Right Glow Rod Solution

Use the 18″or 4ft Bullet Jumper Glow Rod if you want a ready-to-go tool that fits your wall-depth installs perfectly.

Use the Bullet Adapter if you already have glow rods and want to bring them up to Precision standards.

Either way, you get a faster, simpler way to get fiber through the wall—and you never need to reach for tape again.
