Timothy Monday, Director of Engineering

As Director of Engineering at Precision Group, Tim brings more than two decades of experience across industrial automation, power systems, embedded controls, and electronics design. His background spans key engineering roles at Tuftco, Ludlum Measurements, Inc., and X-Fab, where he developed a strong foundation in advanced manufacturing and process development.

Tim is known for his deep technical expertise and his ability to bridge the gap between hardware engineering and firmware/software development. He takes a systems-driven approach to engineering, leveraging modern tools for data tracking, versioning, and validation to build scalable, efficient, and highly automated architectures that support long-term performance and reliability.

His contributions to innovation include work in automated manufacturing and SiC power device foundry development, and he is listed as an inventor on multiple patents related to advanced stitch placement and tufting machine retraction technologies.

Tim holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas Tech University. He is also actively involved in his community through volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity.

What does your favorite Saturday look like?

It usually starts with a workout, maybe a hike or run, in the morning. After that, I like to spend some outside time with my sons, followed by spending quality time with Le’Ann, William, and James, which almost always includes a good family board game or video game session.

What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

I’m an active fitness enthusiast and like to spend time outdoors. I’m also into the 3D printing and spend a fair amount of time doing website design and maintenance for the Southern Powerlifting Federation.

Tell us something about yourself people may not know?

I enjoy sci-fi Audio books and movies. I often find the comedy sci-fi niche particularly entertaining.

What was your 10 year-old-self’s dream job?

Professional Athlete. I wanted to be a professional basketball player for some time.
