Precision Group’s groundbreaking ceremony for a new 82,000 square-foot office and warehouse space was held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Henderson Industrial Park in Franklin, Kentucky. Precision Group will officially break ground within the next two months and hope to move its teams into the new facility by February 2024.
“We are excited that the city of Franklin has come out to support what we are doing here in the community,” said Drew Hardin, President of Precision Group at the groundbreaking ceremony. “They’ve done plenty for us along the way and this expansion is a big part of the partnership with Franklin to not only grow our business nationally, but do it in this small community where we feel most at home.”
The new site will sit adjacent to Interstate 65. Steve Thurmond from the Franklin Simpson Chamber of Commerce moderated the ceremony. “These (Precision Group) are old friends doing something new,” said Thurmond. “Seven years ago, we held a ribbon cutting for Drew and here we are today breaking ground for a new facility in a perfect location where 60,000 people per day will see the facility as they drive by on the Interstate.”
Broadband’s industry growth has been a catalyst to Precision Group’s ability to expand into a new building, bring people into the city of Franklin, and open new arms to their business model, like assembly.
“I get to wake up and be a part of the most exciting industry out there today which is telecommunications,” said Hardin. “It’s not just something we utilize for enjoyment. It’s a lifeline for us today. It’s as important as the electric to your house, if not more important. We get to serve that industry and for me it’s the most rewarding thing I can wake up and do each day besides being a parent and putting God first in my life.”
Precision will continue to focus on the tier 2 and tier 3 markets. “That’s the core of our business and we don’t want to get outside of that,” said Hardin. “We believe first in the person and second in the relationship.”
Representatives from the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority were in attendance, including Dennis Griffin who noted, “Precision Group has been one of my favorite companies to work with. Drew is day to day here and lives in the area. We’ve built a great relationship over the years. It has been a personal thrill of mine to see Precision Power (Precision Group) grow like it has.”
